Courteney Cox set to marry Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid

Former “Friends” star Courteney Cox is preparing to marry Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid after less than a year of dating, sources tell Page Six.

We’re told that Cox, 49, and McDaid, 37, have discussed getting engaged, and her close friends, including Jennifer Aniston, couldn’t be happier, because they all love him.

One source said, “Johnny loves her daughter Coco, and he wants to marry Courteney. They have discussed getting engaged and everyone thinks it is going to happen.”

The source continued, “She met Johnny through Ed Sheeran, who is friends with Jen Aniston. All of Courteney’s friends love Johnny, which is great because Jen wasn’t so fond of David Arquette,” Courteney’s ex-husband, with whom Courteney has remained on very good terms after their divorce.

The couple was first seen out together in December 2013, when they attended Aniston’s holiday party in Los Angeles.

This week, Cox and McDaid were spotted looking loved-up as they took a hand-in-hand beach stroll in Malibu, stopping to wrap their arms around each other and kiss.

The “Cougar Town” actress — who divorced Arquette in May 2013 after 14 years of marriage — recently said of her relationship with McDaid, “I couldn’t be happier.”

She also praised Johnny after he wrote three original songs for her movie directorial debut, “Just Before I Go.” On the red carpet at Manhattan’s SVA Theatre for the April 24 premiere of the film, she said, “He supports me in every way . . . He supports me creatively. He really believed in the movie . . . and not just because he likes me, though I know that helps.”

McDaid also said of Cox, “She gets music. She gets art. She gets the way a scene gets constructed, the way dialogue works. And she puts it all together in her mind and then explains it to the world and makes movies that make people laugh and cry, squirm and jump, all those things.”

Her rep didn’t comment Wednesday night.
