Top model Ubah Hassan is making a line of hot sauce

All models are hot. But this one’s putting it in bottles and selling it.

We’re told Ubah Hassan — who was the face of Ralph Lauren’s spring/summer 2009 campaign and has modeled for Oscar de la Renta, Rachel Roy, Malan Breton, Betsey Johnson, and Gucci, among others — is producing her own line of hot sauces called Ubah Hot.

The Somalian-born model told us, “Although I’ve found myself in a modeling career where I’ve had to watch what I eat to stay fit, I wanted to find a way to honor my palate and passion for food — and a way to enjoy the taste of food without compromising being healthy and radiant.”

She added, “I thought of everyone who strives to eat healthier and consume more vegetables and less processed food, but didn’t want to miss out the savory deliciousness.”

She tells us she’s been working on the goods for three years. That tracks, as Hassan has been dropping breadcrumbs to her gustatorial side-hustle since 2017, when she told The Fashion Spot that if she weren’t modeling, she’d be a chef.

The sauce comes in three gemstone-inspired flavors — Ruby (a mild Fresno pepper sauce), Emerald (a medium serrano one), and Yellow Tanzanite (a hot habanero version) — and they sell for the velvet-rope price of $23-a-jar on the Ubah Hot website.

Hassan was originally discovered by Click Model management and was shot by Steven Meisel for Italian Vogue early in her career. In May she was featured in a story called “The Joy of Black Hair” in the New York Times style magazine, T Magazine.
