Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes taken off air by ABC News chiefs during affair scandal

“GMA3” anchors Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have been taken off the air amid their bombshell affair scandal.

ABC News president Kim Godwin announced Monday during an internal call that the pair would not host their daily 1 p.m. show.

Godwin told staffers on the call that the alleged affair had become too much of an “internal and external distraction.”

She said, “After a lot of thought, I am taking Amy and T.J. off the air as we figure this out.”

Godwin added that while Holmes and Robach’s alleged affair was “not a violation of company policy,” the decision to take them out of their anchor chairs was necessary for the “GMA” brand as a whole.

As further internal meetings are taking place at the network about how to handle the scandal, Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez stepped in to host “GMA3” on Monday while Holmes and Robach took “the day off.” The anchors for the rest of the week are still to be decided.

A rep for ABC News declined to comment. Daily Mail was first to report the news Monday.

Robach and Holmes’ alleged relationship was outed last week after the two put on a flirtatious display at bars near ABC’s Midtown studios.

It is believed Holmes and Robach’s romance could have begun as early as the spring — though other sources close to the anchors insist the affair began in August when they separated from their respective spouses, Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue.

In the aftermath of the scandal, multiple sources told Page Six that the alleged affair has not gone down well with top “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts.

“She is not only very religious, but also doesn’t like this kind of scandal tainting the show,” one insider told us.

Page Six previously reported that Roberts, 62, had confronted Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, about the alleged affair. An insider told us that Roberts “pulled them both aside and basically said, ‘Stop it.’”

In addition to the scandal involving Robach, Holmes – who once referred to himself as “a marriage proponent” – has also been making headlines for allegedly cheating on Fiebig with another ABC staffer years ago.

Page Six reported last week that Holmes was allegedly involved in a three-year affair with “GMA” producer Natasha Singh, which we’re told started in 2016.

At the time, both Holmes and Singh allegedly confided in Robach about their infidelity.

“Amy was the person they went to talk to about their affair and marriages,” one source told us of the alleged affair.

While Fiebig reportedly found out about the Singh affair in 2019, we’re told she was “blindsided” by Holmes’ alleged new romance with Robach, as she and the TV personality were working to repair their marriage amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As for Robach, she reportedly left her husband in August. Her divorce from Shue is “almost finalized” following a “rocky” marriage, sources told Page Six.
