Alison Roman is horrified by Chrissy Teigen: ‘I don’t aspire to that’

Alison Roman is stirring the pot.

The “Nothing Fancy” author had some choice words about Chrissy Teigen‘s trajectory in the food world.

“What Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me,” Roman recently told The New Consumer. “She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her. That horrifies me and it’s not something that I ever want to do. I don’t aspire to that.”

Roman did note, however, that the “Cravings” author’s approach is probably earning her tons of income.

“But like, who’s laughing now? Because she’s making a ton of f–king money,” Roman said.

The food columnist also took a swing at organizing consultant Marie Kondo for being a hypocrite.

“The idea that when Marie Kondo decided to capitalize on her fame and make stuff that you can buy, that is completely antithetical to everything she’s ever taught you,” Roman said, referring to Kondo’s online store where fans can purchase household items like crystals and storage bins. “I’m like, damn, bitch, you f–king just sold out immediately! Someone’s like ‘you should make stuff,’ and she’s like, ‘okay, slap my name on it, I don’t give a s–t!'”

Roman’s remarks drew ire online but she didn’t back down.

“When women bully other women for being honest about money and how much they do or do not make, well, thats amore,” she tweeted Friday. “Just wishing I had someone to hold my hand during baby’s first internet backlash.”

In another tweet, she wrote, “I want to clarify, I am not coming for anyone who’s successful, especially not women. I was trying to clarify that my business model does not include a product line, which work very well for some, but I don’t see working for me.”
