Wendy Williams returns to social media to address fans amid hiatus

Wendy Williams is itching to return to her purple chair.

Amid “The Wendy Williams Show’s” hiatus, the talk show host took to social media to give a shout-out to her fans while awaiting an official return date for taping Season 12. Williams said production needs word from New York state officials confirming that they can, once again, film in an actual studio.

“I want to go back to do our show” Williams, 55, told fans. “Nothing makes me happier than being Wendy on ‘The Wendy Show,’ you know what I mean?”

“I got the love and the boyfriends and all that other kind of stuff, I’m in my house, but what I want most is to be with you,” she said, looking directly into the camera.

“The Wendy Williams Show” — along with several other talk shows — took a hiatus this spring, prompted by the spread of COVID-19. She returned to filming episodes remotely from her home only to take another break due to symptoms of fatigue caused by Graves’ disease.

“The Wendy Williams Show,” produced and distributed by Debmar-Mercury, was renewed this fall through 2022.
