Mary-Kate Olsen officially filed for divorce from French banker Pierre Olivier Sarkozy as New York courts reopened Monday to new cases following coronavirus closures.
The 33-year-old “Full House” star had previously attempted to split from Sarkozy — the half brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy — but was shot down because courts hadn’t been accepting new non-emergency cases amid the pandemic.
Courts on Monday began accepting new cases electronically.
Olsen’s contested divorce filing in Manhattan Supreme Court was among over a hundred cases, including lawsuits, filed by early Monday.
She sought an emergency divorce earlier this month, claiming in court papers that her 50-year-old husband of five years ended the lease on their $29,000 per month Gramercy Park pad, leaving her to look for a new place amid the health crisis.
Olsen’s lawyer declined to comment. Sarkozy’s lawyer did not immediately return a request for comment.
