Jim Edmonds tests positive for coronavirus

Former MLB player Jim Edmonds, the ex of “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Meghan King Edmonds, confirmed Wednesday he tested positive for both pneumonia and coronavirus.

“I appreciated everyone who has said well wishes,” the 49-year-old said in an Instagram Story. “I did test positive for pneumonia and I did get a test back positive for the virus.”

Over the weekend, Edmonds announced he had gone to the hospital to be tested for the virus after experiencing symptoms. But as of Wednesday, Edmonds said he is “symptom-free and doing really well.”

“I must have had it for a while before I got tested,” Edmonds said in his video. “Thank God I quarantined myself and listened to what everyone said and kept our curve at our house flattened.”

Edmonds said that one of his daughters has also been tested and is awaiting her results. He is the father of five children, who range in age from 2 years old to 20-something.

He also stressed not to take the virus lightly.

“If you don’t feel good, go to the doctor or go to the emergency room if you can’t breathe,” Edmonds said. “That’s what happened to me.”

Symptoms include fever, shortness of breath and a cough, according to the CDC.

Jim and Meghan are also embroiled in a custody battle following their split in October that stemmed from a cheating scandal. They share three children: daughter Aspen, 3, and 2-year-old sons Hayes and Hart.
