Kanye West fans launch GoFundMe to make rapper a billionaire again

Kanye West’s fans started a GoFundMe campaign to make the embattled rapper a billionaire again.

Supporters launched several pages — one succinctly being named “Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again” with a fundraising goal of $1 billion — after West’s net worth took a serious hit last week when Adidas dropped him.

That specific fundraiser only raised $5 and has since been taken down, as have copycats that popped up in its place, AllHipHop reported.

Dozens of people have since promoted their own GoFundMe pages encouraging others to make them billionaires instead of West.

A fan previously started a GoFundMe page to raise $53 million for the Grammy winner after he claimed in 2016 that he was in debt for that amount. The fan, Jeremy Piatt, crowdsourced $57,398, but West declined the funds. The money was instead donated to Notes for Notes, a music charity.

The latest round of fundraisers started after Adidas ended its lucrative partnership with West.

The 45-year-old’s deal with the athletic company for his Yeezy clothing line made up $1.5 billion of his net worth, so without the partnership, he’s at a mere $400 million, according to Forbes.

Adidas — along with Balenciaga, Vogue and Gap — cut ties with West after he made several anti-Semitic remarks over the last few weeks.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement on Oct. 25. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

Sources recently told Page Six that West could face a financial crisis in months — as four out of his five sources of income have either been terminated or extremely compromised.

Adidas’ decision came after West claimed on the “Drink Champs” podcast that he could say “any anti-Semitic s–t” he wanted and Adidas still would not “drop [him].”

The “Gold Digger” performer took to social media last month and posted a series of anti-Semitic remarks, including wanting to “go death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.”

The former billionaire has yet to apologize for his comments and instead doubled down, saying he’s “absolutely not” sorry.

West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, who reached billionaire status herself in April 2021, condemned his remarks. The two co-parent four children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
