Michelle Collins says ‘hazing was brutal’ when she first joined ‘The View’

Former “The View” panelist Michelle Collins recently opened up about her time on the popular daytime talk show, saying that she agrees with current host Sunny Hostin that the show is similar to a sorority.

“When they rushed me, the hazing was brutal — but I made it through,” Collins, 38, told Us Weekly. “Yeah, very much. I mean, listen, I went to a women’s college, Barnard College. And, it only makes sense that I ended up on ‘The View.’ That’s sort of like, it’s graduate school from Barnard, basically. So, I see that very much. And, it’s all good energy and everything else.”

The comedian joined the show during its 15th season and in 2015, but was let go the following year.

“I have to be honest with you, much like with college, you eventually have to move on,” she added.

Abby Huntsman is the latest panelist to call it quits, with Meghan McCain confirming that the two had a minor backstage spat that could have prompted Huntsman’s exit.

“We did get in a fight, which is a very small fight and a friend fight, and all friendships have ups and downs,” McCain admitted on “Watch What Happens Live.” “It was sort of bizarre for me, and I think bizarre for her, to have — the fact that we got in one fight the two years that we worked together on the show, to be put under dissection in the media, to be weaponized.”
