J-Lo and A-Rod ask Ruth Bader Ginsburg for marriage advice

When Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez go looking for relationship advice, they turn to another boldface name: the Notorious RBG.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg revealed Saturday that Jennifer Lopez called her “about a month or so ago” to ask for a meeting, CNN reported.

The three “had a very nice visit” in the justice’s Supreme Court chambers, Ginsburg said.

“She mostly wanted to ask if I had any secret to a happy marriage,” said Ginsburg, who was married to her late husband for more than five decades.

She passed along advice that she received from her mother-in-law on her wedding day: “It helps sometimes to be a little deaf,” Ginsburg said.

Ginsburg, in an interview before an audience of 4,000 at the Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington DC, said that her job has kept her going through four bouts with cancer.

“As this audience can see, I am alive,” the 86-year-old said with a broad grin. “And I’m on my way to being very well.”

Ginsburg underwent three weeks of radiation treatment in August for a malignant tumor on her pancreas.

The justice’s health, including her treatment for lung cancer last year, has been a matter of intense public speculation due to her role as the senior member of the court’s four-justice liberal wing. Ginsburg’s retirement or death would give President Donald Trump his third pick on the nation’s highest judicial body.

“I love my job. It’s the best and the hardest job that I have ever had,” Ginsburg said. “Instead of concentrating on my aches and pains, I just know that I have to read this set of briefs, go over the draft opinion.”
