Hoda Kotb returns to ‘Today’ show after maternity leave

Hoda Kotb is back on “Today.”

On Tuesday, the mother of two returned to Studio 1A at Rockefeller Center, where she reunited with her “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie after going on maternity leave in April.

“Hoda is back and everyone is smiling so much just to see your face,” Guthrie said during the show’s opening moments.

“I went to bed last night, I popped up at 3:15 and I was like, ‘I get to come home,'” Kotb replied.

Kotb adopted her second child, daughter Hope Catherine, with longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman. The couple also shares 2-year-old daughter Haley Joy.

Last month, Kotb, 55, gushed about having “the best summer of my entire life” with her new family of four. She also expressed how grateful she was about going back to work.

“I’ve loved every second of it, but you know what else I’m going to love, coming back to you guys,” Kotb said. “So I am getting ready, I’m setting my alarm. 3:15 a.m., OK, we’ll be back in business. I love you guys and I cannot wait to see you.”

“Today” has experienced a flurry of baby news in recent months. Fourth-hour co-host Jenna Bush Hager welcomed her third child, son Henry Harold, last month, and meteorologist Dylan Dreyer announced in July that she’s expecting baby No. 2.
