William Shatner to make stand-up debut on ‘Gotham Comedy Live’

William Shatner can add a new skill to his resume: Stand-up comedy.

The former “Star Trek” star, 85, will make his comedy debut at Gotham Comedy Club for the sixth season of AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live.”

Shatner joins a roster of celebrity hosts including Fran Drescher, Sherri Shepherd, Pete Davidson, Cedric the Entertainer, Frank Caliendo, Paula Poundstone and “Page Six TV” host John Fugelsang. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will unite onstage to emcee the season premiere on Jan. 19 at 10 p.m. ET.

Leading up to the premiere, the network will present two new “Best Of” specials, starting with “Best of ‘Gotham Comedy Live’: SNLumni” on Thursday, Dec. 22, featuring sets from Gilbert Gottfried, Norm MacDonald, Darrell Hammond, Joe Piscopo, Jay Pharoah, Cheri Oteri, Tim Meadows, Jon Lovitz and more. A “Best of Gotham Comedy Live,” hosted by comedian Jackie Martling, will air on Thursday, Dec. 29.
