Peter Weber has emergency surgery while filming ‘The Bachelor’ in Costa Rica

“The Bachelor” star Peter Weber was hospitalized Monday after suffering an accident in Costa Rica while filming the ABC dating show, People reports.

According to Radar Online, Weber, 28, was on a golf date when he tripped stepping onto a cart and “split his face open” on two cocktail glasses. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and had to get 22 stitches.

“He is pulling through,” a source told Radar, adding, “Everyone is worried about production. All the women were flying in for filming today.”

However, a source told Page Six, “It isn’t as bad as what’s being reported. They are already back to work on set. He’s on a date right now.”

A rep for ABC did not immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.

In September, Weber was announced as the show’s lead after being eliminated on Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette,” meaning the airline pilot was just weeks into filming Season 24 when the accident took place.

“This is life-changing,” Weber told host Chris Harrison of being chosen as “The Bachelor” on the “Bachelor in Paradise” finale. “I have all the faith in the world that this can work for me, and I know it’s going to.”

The new season is set to premiere in January 2020.
