Beyoncé gave up carbs, sugar and dairy before Coachella performance

Beyoncé pushed herself to her limits in preparation for her 2018 Coachella performance.

Speaking candidly in her new Netflix documentary, “Homecoming,” the 37-year-old singer shared how she went to extreme lengths before headlining the music festival.

“In order for me to meet my goals, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol … I’m hungry,” she said, according to a Daily Mail recap.

The documentary follows an eight-month period in which the star prepares to hit the stage. Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z welcomed twins Rumi and Sir Carter the previous year, and with three children and a husband, she admitted her bandwidth has changed.

“It’s not like before when I could rehearse 15 hours straight,” she said. ”I have children. I have a husband. I have to take care of my body.”

“I definitely pushed myself further than I knew I could and I’ve learned a very valuable lesson,” she explained. “I will never, never push myself that far again. I feel like I’m just a new woman in a new chapter of my life and I’m not even trying to be who I was. It’s just so beautiful that children do that to you.”
