Pregnant Chloë Sevigny says new delivery room ban is ‘distressing’

Chloë Sevigny — who is expecting her first child — offered her support to other pregnant women in New York following strict new rules regarding deliveries that have been implemented.

In the hopes of minimizing the risk of the coronavirus, all New York hospitals are banning pregnant women from having partners or loved ones accompany them in the delivery room.

“We understand that this will be difficult for our patients and their loved ones, but we believe that this is a necessary step to promote the safety of our new mothers and children,” New York-Presbyterian hospitals said in a statement. In lieu, the healthcare provider suggested connecting “through virtual means, including Skype, FaceTime, and/or phone.”

The Oscar-nominated actress, 45, who is due next month used the hashtag “#pregnantincoronatime” to give a shout out on Instagram.

“I hope all expecting families are finding some calm. Today’s news in NY was very distressing for all. #support #prayers,” Sevigny wrote, alongside a pair of snaps taken of her by director Willaim Strobeck.

The “Big Love” actress is expecting her first child with boyfriend Sinisa Mackovic, director of New York’s uber-hip Karma Art Gallery.
