Travis Barker suing over staph infection, school bus crash

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is suing a medical imaging center, claiming a dirty needle led to the staph infection that left him unable to go on tour.

Barker, 42, alleges in court documents obtained by TMZ that he was slated for a routine MRI in June at The Medical Imaging Center in Santa Monica, Calif., before hitting the road with his band.

Barker was supposed to be sedated before the procedure began, but claims that technicians were unable to find a vein and stuck him at least 40 times with a dirty needle, thus allegedly giving him staph.

The drummer is also filing a lawsuit against the school bus company and driver involved in his July collision.

No one was injured in the crash, which TMZ reports was caused when the school bus driver allegedly made an illegal left turn.

Barker previously alleged that the bus driver also ran a stoplight.

It’s been a cruel summer for the rock star.

In early June, Blink-182 was forced to postpone its Las Vegas residency because of the drummer’s blood clots in his arms and staph infection.

Earlier this month, the band had to cancel a fall mini-tour, as well as a headlining performance at Riotfest in Chicago, due to Barker’s health woes.

Barker said in a statement at the time, “The past few months have just sucked as I have been sidelined just waiting for my doctors to clear me so I could get back on the road and perform with my band. Unfortunately, the risks associated with drumming are still too great. I am doing everything I need to do so I can get back on the road as soon as possible.”

A rep for Barker declined to comment on the lawsuits.
