Jason Statham apologizes for allegedly using homophobic slur

Jason Statham has apologized for allegedly using a homophobic slur during a private conversation.

The actor and producer allegedly repeatedly said “f–king f–s” during a conversation with Steve Casman on the set of his 2015 film “Wild Card,” according to The Blast.

“Someone approached me claiming to have a tape of me using terms offensive to the LGBTQ community during a conversation I had with my producing partner, on a movie set five years ago,” Statham, 50, said in a statement to the site. “I have never heard the recording and my multiple requests to hear the recording have been refused.”

Statham, who is married to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, went on to say he has no recollection of the conversation in question. However, he wants to be clear that’s not how he feels about the LGBTQ community adding, “If I said these words, I was wrong and I deeply apologize … While I cannot fix what was said in the past, I can learn from it and do better in the future.”

Statham’s legal team said the release of such audio could bring consequences as it violates Louisiana’s Electronic Surveillance Act, which bans recording private conversations without consent.
