Britney Spears‘ boyfriend Sam Asghari says the pop star is “doing great” as she seeks treatment for her mental health.
TMZ spoke with the 25-year-old model in Los Angeles on Tuesday where he provided an update on Spears, 37, just two days after the couple was photographed at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills.
“She’s doing amazing,” Asghari said. “Her fans are so amazing to be so concerned, but she’s doing great. Nobody needs to worry.”
He added, “She’ll be back soon.”
A source previously told Page Six Spears checked into a mental health facility in April to cope with her father’s declining health.
“Britney hasn’t been drinking or doing drugs or anything, she just has some very difficult emotional and mental health issues,” the source said. “She’s gone away to try to deal with her issues before they get worse.”
On Easter Sunday, a source shared with us that Spears spent a “day trip” with her boyfriend, but confirmed she has not been permanently released from treatment.
Asghari, who has been dating Spears since 2016, reposted the singer’s Instagram message, which said we all need a little “me time” on April 4.
He captioned the photo, “It isn’t weakness, It’s a sign of absolute strength, people should only be inspired by this, at least I am.”
