Ink knows no age for Michael J. Fox.

The iconic “Back to the Future” actor, 57, took to Instagram to show off his new tattoo on Thursday.

“First tattoo, sea turtle, long story,” he captioned a photo of his freshly inked forearm.

Having the tat done at celeb-loved hotspot Bang Bang Tattoos, an Instagram account for the shop also posted a photo with Fox and his tattoo artist, Mr. K, posing with Marty McFly gear including sneakers and a skateboard.

“thank you for the trust as well as letting us fan out a bit after!” they wrote. “Thank you for sharing the story of your tattoo with me. Keep following that turtle.”

In an interview with Inked Magazine published on Thursday, owner of the shop, Jon Bang Bang, explained the actor’s decision behind the sea turtle.

“He was telling me that there was a transformation for him with his career decisions when he was swimming in Saint John,” he said. “He spotted this turtle with a chunk missing from its fin and a scar on his face. And that turtle let him swim with him for about a half an hour. He made a transcending decision right after that. So that turtle was pretty significant to him.”

Bang Bang, who has tatted Justin Beiber and Bella Hadid, explained that the idea was a month and a half in the making after Fox’s people emailed asking to meet with K, who also shared his own series of photos with the actor.

“Represents his life and himself,” he wrote of the tat. “Can’t decide how I feel today @realmikejfox it was an honor.”
