NBC airs repeat of ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ after blackface controversy

Megyn Kelly is out at NBC … for now.

After Kelly was slammed for defending blackface in Halloween costumes, NBC ran a repeat episode of “Megyn Kelly Today” on Thursday. The episode originally aired Aug. 31.

“Given the circumstances, ‘Megyn Kelly Today’ will be on tape the rest of the week,” NBC News told Page Six in a statement Thursday.

“Not being on air is the kiss of death!” a TV insider told Page Six.

The 47-year-old NBC News host apologized to colleagues via email on Tuesday and then on-air on Wednesday after “Today” co-anchors Al Roker and Craig Melvin criticized her ignorance.

Hours later, Kelly and her agency, CAA, parted ways. She’s now being represented by entertainment lawyer Bryan Freedman.

Insiders also told Page Six that her days at NBC are numbered, with the network mulling pulling the plug on her hour by year’s end.

She’s halfway through a three-year contract, at $20 million a year.

A source said with this gaffe, NBC could just “let Kelly hang out to dry.”
