Why ‘Bachelorette’ Rachel Lindsay doesn’t want a sexy wedding dress

While Rachel Lindsay let designer Randi Rahm take the reins when it came to crafting her dream wedding dress, there was one hard rule for the former “Bachelorette.”

“I love to wear a sexy dress, and when I was on ‘The Bachelorette,’ the dresses that I wore that were Randi Rahms were sexy. And I knew on my wedding day, though, I did not want to go for sexy,” the bride-to-be, 33, told Page Six Style from Randi Rahm’s New York studio on Tuesday.

“I’m a curvy girl. I didn’t want something that hugged my figure or to take away from me being a bride, where you’re focusing on the wrong thing,” she explained.

The lawyer-turned-ESPN personality, who got engaged to Bryan Abasolo at the end of her season back in 2017, will say “I do” in the Caribbean this August.

And while Lindsay initially pictured herself in pants on her wedding day, Rahm managed to change her mind.

“She came to me and said, ‘I’m wearing pants.’ I said, ‘Oh great,’ and then I guess I was saying to her, let’s try on some other things because you can always wear pants,” Rahm explained.

“I can wear pants on any red carpet at any event,” Lindsay agreed. “I want to wear something that is unique and special to this day, so that started to get into the idea of what I wanted to wear.”

Though neither Lindsay nor Rahm would reveal specifics of the resulting bridal design, the future Mrs. Abasolo said it won’t be what the world expects.

“When I put on the dress, it just spoke to me in a different way. I felt like it encompassed so much of my personality. I was getting a little bit of what Bryan wanted, but at the same time, staying true to myself,” she said.

And much like she knew Abasolo was the one, Lindsay also felt the same about her gown.

“When I put it on … I hate cliches, and I fell into the cliche of when you put it on, you’ll know,” she gushed. “And I put this one on, [and] I can’t use any other word other than I melted. I felt so comfortable, so free, so like me, but beautiful at the same time.”
