Luke Perry laid to rest in eco-friendly ‘mushroom burial suit’

Actor Luke Perry was laid to rest in an eco-friendly burial suit made mostly of mushrooms, his daughter Sophie revealed on Instagram.

She said the late star of “90210” and “Riverdale” star, who died of a stroke in March at 52, asked to be interred in the $1,500 suit, which “cleanses the body and soil of toxins” and “delivers nutrients from body to surrounding plant roots,” its maker claims.

“My dad discovered it, and was more excited by this than I have ever seen him. He was buried in this suit, one of his final wishes,” Sophie wrote to her 93,000 followers.

She shared that information, along with a photo of mushrooms, one of the suit’s main ingredients, in the wild.

“I took this picture … because i thought, ’damn, those mushrooms are beautiful.’ Now, mushrooms hold an entirely new meaning for me,” the 18-year-old wrote.

According to her post, Luke was laid to rest in an “Infinity Burial Suit,” made by Coeio, in Dickson County, Tennessee.

It was co-created by NYC fashion designer Daniel Silverstien, otherwise known as Zero Waste Daniel.

The garment is worn by the deceased, who is placed directly into the ground without a coffin.

Coeio says that microorganisms in the suit assist the body’s decomposition process.
