LFO singer Devin Lima dies after cancer battle

LFO singer Devin Lima died early Wednesday after a yearlong battle with cancer, Page Six confirmed. He was 41.

“It is with a truly broken heart that I confirm that Harold ‘Devin’ Lima passed away early this morning after a valiant battle with cancer,” Lima’s bandmate Brad Fischetti said in a statement. “Devin, as the world knows him, was an extraordinary talent, a doting father to his six children, and a loving partner to their mother. He was a beloved son and brother and a friend to so many. On behalf of the LFO family, thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love from friends, family, fans, media, and those in the music industry.”

Lima was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in October 2017 after doctors removed a massive adrenal tumor from his stomach. LFO had planned to go on a spring 2018 tour until Lima received his diagnosis.

Fischetti, told Page Six at the time that the tumor had been successfully removed.

“Devin’s surgery went very well. The tumor was successfully removed. His left kidney and adrenal gland were also removed as they were engulfed by the football size tumor in his abdomen,” he shared. “Thankfully, the surgeons were able to save all of his other internal organs.”

The group’s publicist later broke the sad news of the diagnosis in an email to Page Six.

“Our whole LFO team is distraught over this and we want nothing more than to see Devin back on stage doing what he does best but, unfortunately, LFO is at the bottom of the list of things that Devin needs to accomplish to get back to normalcy in his life,” she wrote at the time.

The “Summer Girls” band originally consisted of Lima, Fischetti and Rich Cronin. Cronin died after a five-year battle with leukemia in 2010.
