Winds tear roof off Caitlyn Jenner’s home

Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu home is in a canyon high enough that it isn’t in the path of the fires that have destroyed many homes. But it is right in the path of the 60-mph-plus winds that were whipping the flames in Ventura County. Last night, those winds tore most of the roof off her home and left her Labrador puppy Bertha missing, giving Jenner a terrible scare.

She went to dinner and returned to see the roof sheared off. Part of it was in the pool and part was scattered on the grounds of her property. When she opened the door, there was no sign of her dog. She searched and called, to no avail, in the dark. Unable to stay in the house, Jenner spent the night with family.

Tuesday morning, she called her son to help her move the roof, dreading the notion that the dog was under the wreckage. The roof was too heavy, and they called in a crew to remove the debris.

When the workers arrived, one mentioned in passing that on the way up, he had seen a dog. Hoping against hope, Jenner rushed down the hill, and sure enough, it was Bertha. The dog was filthy but safe.
