The New York Dolls’ David Johansen gave a rousing performance for about a dozen friends and family members, including his wife and stepdaughter, at zebra-print karaoke joint Planet Rose Thursday night.
We’re told Johansen and his family were gathered at the karaoke bar for a friend’s birthday party.
During the festivities, Johansen grabbed the mike to do a rendition of the 1958 classic “Chantilly Lace” by the Big Bopper.
Lyrics include that famous line, “Oh, baby, that’s what I like!”
Guests overheard Johansen say it was his first time doing karaoke, which is ironic given that his hit “Hot Hot Hot,” performed under his pseudonym Buster Pointdexter, is an all-time karaoke favorite.
