The DJ son of ex-Knicks coach Isiah Thomas took a plea deal Thursday in Manhattan court that will let him avoid a criminal record from an April DWI bust.
Joshua Thomas, 25, copped to a violation of driving while his ability was impaired in exchange for prosecutors dropping the top charge of misdemeanor DWI.
“It’s a traffic infraction, not a crime,” said Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Alexander Tisch.
Thomas, also known as ”DJ Zeke,” hobbled into court sporting a leg cast from a tear to his Achilles tendon. He wore a crisp white shirt, blue tie and slacks.
“Yes,” he replied when the judge asked whether he wanted to plead guilty.
If he keeps his nose clean for one year, completes a driving program and pays a $300 fine, the son of the NBA Hall of Fame player will have no record. His license will also be suspended for 90 days.
Thomas was arrested on April 4 at 3:30 am at a West Village checkpoint after leaving a gig, court papers state. He told cops he had guzzled three drinks before getting behind the wheel of his black 2011 Range Rover.
“We’re glad the case was resolved in a non-criminal matter,” said defense lawyer Scott Leemon. “He looks forward to getting on with his life as a flourishing DJ.”
Thomas’ newest song “Monsters (Be Brave),” recently debuted on VH1.
His dad headed the Knicks for two tumultuous seasons as president and then coached the team for another two disastrous losing seasons before his ouster in 2008.
