‘Girls’ star Allison Williams to play Peter Pan

“Girls” star Allison Williams will headline NBC’s live production of “Peter Pan,” the network announced Monday.

Williams, who’s played Marnie Michaels on HBO’s “Girls” since the show’s 2012 premiere, joins Christopher Walken, who was previously cast as Captain Hook.

NBC’s production of “Peter Pan” will air Dec. 4 and is a followup to its live production of “The Sound of Music,” which aired last December with stars Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer and corralled nearly 19 million viewers.

“I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about 3 years old, so this is a dream come true,” Williams said in a statement. “It’s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team.”

Williams is the daughter of “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams.
