Before her film “Obvious Child,” Jenny Slate was best known as the girl who dropped the F-bomb during her “SNL” debut.

After appearing as a featured player during the 2009-2010 seasons, the comedian’s contract wasn’t renewed in part because she uttered a profanity on air.

“Lorne and I never talked when I was fired at the end of the season; I got the news online,” Slate recently told Glamour. “I’ve still never watched the clip of my f—k-up. That’d be like watching yourself fall down the aisle at your wedding! I feel like it happened to somebody else, and I want to tell her, ‘Oh, girl. I’m so sorry, but you need to move on.’ ”

But Slate decided not to let the slip-up define her.

“When I was fired, I ordered 50 million pizzas and invited all of my friends over,” said Slate, 32. “It’s important to let yourself go through all the emotions. But if you start seeing yourself as a victim rather than as all of the other amazing things you could be, it’s time to snap out of it.”

And snap out of it she has, creating, along with husband Dean Fleischer-Camp, “Marcel the Shell,” a character who’s gotten more than 30 million views on YouTube, something the couple parlayed into a book deal.

In addition to that massive success and “Obvious Child,” Slate stars in “Married,” an upcoming FX comedy that’s set to premiere on July 17.
