Don’t blame Mick Jagger for Brazil’s World Cup defeat.

The 70-year-old Rolling Stones singer told The Sun, “I can take responsibility for the first German goal but not the other six!”

Jagger was labeled a jinx and more after all the teams he supported in the tournament failed to succeed. He was given the unpleasant title of “Pe Frio” by the Brazilians, which roughly translates to someone who brings bad luck. His reputation first took a hit after he was spotted wearing a Brazil shirt at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

During Tuesday’s match, Jagger didn’t wear Brazilian colors, instead sporting a Three Lions (the English team’s nickname) cap. His 15-year-old son, Lucas, wore a yellow shirt. And home team fans toted signs of Jagger wearing rival jerseys, hoping to deflect the bad luck.

Lucas’ mom, Luciana Gimenez, posted a short note to Instagram pleading with folks to stop bullying Jagger. “Mick is suffering cyber bullying,” she wrote. “He does not deserve to be treated this way.”
