Tina Turner has denied reports she suffered a stroke, saying she is in “excellent health.”

Several German and Dutch publications claimed the 74-year-old fell ill last February, but was on the mend.

However the Proud Mary singer’s spokesperson has blasted the claims: “The fact is that Tina enjoys excellent health.”

German news source Express reported that Turner’s driver Albert B. Cologne confirmed the stroke, saying, “She had a mild stroke, but is well on the road to recovery.”

He also allegedly said: “Tina had to cancel her holiday to recover, she has already managed a smile for her partner Erwin Bach.”

The Web site has since deleted the story, with Turner’s rep insisting the performer does not have a driver named Cologne and never planned a trip to Carinthia.

Turner has made a home in Switzerland with husband Erwin, a German music executive, for several years, and was reportedly last seen Thursday at the launch of her new album in Zurich looking happy and healthy.
