Nick Loeb went to New Orleans to ‘win back’ Sofia Vergara

Nick Loeb told close pals he was planning to woo back sexy former fiancée Sofía Vergara when he traveled to Louisiana, where’s she’s shooting her latest movie — but the Onion Crunch king struck out.

Multiple sources tell us that after they ended their engagement in May, Loeb headed down last weekend to New Orleans, where the stunning Colombian actress is currently shooting the action-comedy “Don’t Mess With Texas” with Reese Witherspoon.

But friends of condiment commander Loeb claim he was only in the Big Easy coincidentally — because, inexplicably, “He is a reserve police officer for the state of Louisiana and had to go on patrol with the sheriff’s office,” we’re told.

Others say he had in fact assigned himself a personal undercover mission: “Nick said he was going to New Orleans to win Sofía back,” one insider told us, adding, “But they’re not back together.”

That’s because Vergara didn’t see Loeb while he was in town, and he instead had dinner with her adult son, Manolo, and a cousin. “He didn’t see Sofía,” a source said. “He went to dinner with Manolo. They watched the Colombia [World Cup] match.”

But a friend of Loeb insisted to Page Six, “Nick had no plans to see Sofía. The only plans he had were to hang out with Manolo and Manolo’s cousin during his free time.”

Vergara cryptically posted a message online after Loeb’s New Orleans visit that said, “No one is coming to save you. This life of yours is 100 percent your responsibility.” The last time she and Loeb broke up, in May 2012, they were back together just two months later when he proposed.

While Loeb was “on patrol” keeping Louisiana safe, Vergara was acting in her film as the widow of a drug boss being protected by a “by-the-book” cop, played by Witherspoon.

Over the weekend, Vergara also posted sexy pictures encouraging her country’s team in the World Cup. Reps for the former couple, and the Louisiana State Police, had no comment.
