The way Jimmy Connors hits a tennis ball, it’s no surprise he can hit a golf ball. But no one should get two holes-in-one in the space of two weeks.
The tennis champ, 61, who has a single-digit handicap, accomplished that feat recently at the posh Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara, California, seaside home to Oprah Winfrey, Rob Lowe, Kevin Costner and Jeff Bridges.
Connors shot aces on the 171-yard 17th hole and the 153-yard 14th, reports Montecito Journal columnist Richard Mineards.
“It has never happened in the 17 years I’ve been here,” says club pro Scott Johnson. “Two in two weeks is quite an accomplishment!”
