The divorce between Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas has turned into a real dogfight.
The Hollywood couple — who filed for divorce this month after 18 years together because they’d drifted apart, sources said — are now prepping for a custody battle over their three pooches.
According to TMZ, the pair owns a terrier mix and two brother and sister shepherd lab mixes they adopted last year after two of their other faithful companions passed away.
The Web site reports: “Sources say Melanie is the better dog owner between herself and Antonio . . . and the pooches mean the world to her.”
The couple has a daughter, Stella Banderas, who will turn 18 in September.
Sources told Page Six of the famous couple’s split: “Melanie and Antonio have had issues for a long time. They used to be so affectionate with each other, but more recently they’ve been drifting apart.”
Seems they’ll each want their four-legged friends to help them through the breakup.
