In quite possibly the greatest surveillance video of all time, Solange Knowles goes buck wild, kicking and hitting her brother-in-law, Jay Z, for reasons currently unknown. Meanwhile, her sister Beyoncé stands by idly. It’s a beautiful metaphor, really, for what many of us have known all along: Solange is the more interesting Knowles.
Sure, Beyoncé has elegance and grace and beauty and talent and general human perfection, but Solange is a real person. Her music is innovative, her style impeccable, and all the while she does crazy stuff.

That time she overdosed on NyQuil
We might as well start here. Solange passed out at LAX and was hospitalized, later taking to Twitter to blame it on taking too much NyQuil. Apparently that’s a thing.
That time she got real mad at a news station
While promoting her album in 2008, she lashed out at a reporter because the station had previously mentioned a controversy surrounding Jay Z’s 40/40 Club. The result was awkward.

“I have literally had my last leg with discriminating police! Miami police department will be notified,” she said. “A police officer just pulled a weapon on me … I have done NOTHING illegal, against the law, or anything of the sort.”
Police denied the incident.
