Fairchild-St. John court-ordered tag sale racks up $400,000

There was a 2 ¹/₂-hour wait to get into the marital home of Whitney St. John and James B. Fairchild in Bridgehampton on Friday for a court-ordered tag sale.

The sale, which runs through Monday, racked up $400,000 in its first two days, to be split between the divorcing duo.

Estates NY is putting on the auction of antique paintings, jewelry, cars, minks and accessories.

Fairchild realized he’d bought a “hunting scene” painting, which sold for $15,000, before the marriage, so he got to keep that loot.

St. John’s attorney told us his client objects to the sale because of the “potentially devastating effect [it] may have on her children.” Fairchild said, “I want everybody’s lives to get sorted out, especially my children.” We hear St. John was not allowed to attend the sale.
