The Jessye Norman book party was pretty glamorous, for a book party.
On Tuesday night, a mixture of society and the arts met at Chez Josephine to celebrate the opera diva’s long-awaited autobiography, “Stand Up Straight and Sing!”
Wynton Marsalis, Alvin Ailey, dance star Judith Jamison, ABC News anchor Sade Baderinwa, Sam and Elizabeth Peabody, Gil Shiva, and Gloria Steinem all paid homage to the very happy (to have finally finished the book) singer.
After Steinem’s introduction, Norman treated the crowd to a favorite song — “Happy to Be Me” — no amplification necessary.
