Terry Richardson accused of bartering sex for photoshoot

“If I can f—k you I will book you in NY for a shoot for Vogue.”

This was the confronting offer allegedly proposed by celebrity fashion photographer Terry Richardson to English model Emma Appleton, who has since gone public with the proposition in an attempt to call him out.

Appleton posted a screengrab of the text to her Instagram and Twitter channels, claiming the photographer, who directed Miley Cyrus’ provocative film clip to her No. 1 smash, “Wrecking Ball,” offered her a spot in the pages of fashion bible Vogue in exchange for sex.

“Um what,” she posted alongside the photo, adding, “yeah, I was like whaaat and he said yes or no?”

“I just said um no I’m not your girl, bye ha.

“This industry is f—ked up.

“I’ve been modelling for 5 years and I’ve never had this before, it doesn’t make it okay.

“That’s the worst bit about it.”

But representatives for Richardson have questioned the legitimacy of the claims, telling Buzzfeed’s Kate Aurthur the screenshot was “obviously a fake” and accusing Appleton of doctoring the image.

The posts have since been deleted, and Appleton’s Twitter profile has disappeared, but not before she left a parting gift: “The fact people think this is acceptable blows my f—king mind. See ya.”

But Hildy Kuryk, communications director of Vogue, says the magazine hasn’t worked with Richardson in years.

“The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future.”

This isn’t the first time Richardson has been accused of sexually inappropriate behavior. In March 2010, Danish model and filmmaker Rie Rasmussen accused him of manipulating young models in the hopes they will “take their clothes off and takes pictures of them they will be ashamed of.”

Numerous other models have since come forward with similar stories, but no charges have been filed.
