Aaron Taylor-Johnson doesn’t notice age difference with wife, 47

For Aaron Taylor-Johnson, age is just a number.

The “Godzilla” actor, 23, has been married to 47-year-old director Sam Taylor-Wood (who is currently working on the highly anticipated film adaptation of E L James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey”)  since 2012 and says it “doesn’t seem” like there’s any age difference at all.

“She’s such a young, beautiful soul that you wouldn’t even know,” Taylor-Johnson says in the May issue of Men’s Health (on newsstands April 15).

The couple first met when Taylor-Johnson signed on to play John Lennon in “Nowhere Boy,” the 2009 biopic that Taylor-Wood directed.

“My life just totally flipped over,” he says of meeting his wife-to-be. “It went from a really bad place to, you know …”

With Taylor-Wood came her two daughters, Angelica and Jessie, from her previous marriage to Jay Jopling. Now, the couple have two children of their own, Romy and Wylda.

“Everything in my life before them was an escape,” he says of his family. “I went from one job to the next, film after film, just trying to escape.”

As for those skeptical about how he balances being a husband and father with a film career, Taylor-Johnson’s got some choice words.

“They’re not challenges. People are like, ‘Don’t you have to work really hard?’ And I’m like, ‘If you think it’s hard, you must be in a s—t marriage.'”
