Buried in the news of the NFL schedule release was a bizarre announcement from the Seattle Seahawks saying that Wilson, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, was getting a divorce from his wife Ashton Meem. The couple met in high school and have been married for 2 years.
In the statement Wilson said, “Clearly, decisions like these don’t come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this personal matter.”
