Four Seasons owner proves chivalry isn’t dead at AIDS benefit

Chivalry lives — at least at the Four Seasons restaurant, with co-owners Julian Niccolini and Alex von Bidder maintaining the thin gilded line between civilization and the barbarians.

At the Love Heals benefit on Tuesday night — where Mary Louise Parker, Kelly Bensimon and Stefani (Scoop) Greenfield were helping raise money for AIDS patients — Niccolini sprang into action to bounce “two Euro-trashed guys who looked like gigolos,” as one witness described them. Another source told me, “What happened was that one guy was saying incredibly crude things about American women. Julian told them to stop being rude and the guy told him to mind his own business.” Niccolini told the vulgarian, “Well, this just so happens to be my business.”

The restaurateur threw them out and told them never to come back again.

One longtime staffer said, “After 20 years of being involved with the Four Seasons, I have never heard of anyone being bounced out the door. This was a first.”
