Wintour surrenders as Kimye lands on Vogue

Anna Wintour finally caved to the demands of Kanye West: The Vogue editor in chief put fame-hungry reality star Kim Kardashian and the hotheaded rapper on the cover of the magazine’s April issue.

The “I Am A God” rapper has relentlessly lobbied Wintour to feature his Calabasas baby momma on Vogue’s cover. He famously even argued the E! reality star was “more relevant to fashion” than Michelle Obama, who has appeared on the glossy’s cover twice.

As part of his campaign, “Yeezus” invited the editrix to one of his concerts at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last year, where she sat next to Kim and momager Kris Jenner.

Kardashian appears in a strapless Lanvin (one of her fiancé’s favorite designers) gown with West behind her holding her waist, in a wedding-inspired image shot by top photographer Annie Leibovitz. West and Kardashian are due to marry on May 24 in Paris.

Vogue also released a behind-the-scenes of the shoot video of Kardashian, West and their baby daughter, North.

The cover features the cover line “Their Fashionable Life and Surreal Times #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTCOUPLE.” And appropriate for the hashtag, Kim took to Twitter to share the news:

It was reported Wintour had not been a fan of the reality star, with reports in 2012 saying she had banned her from the Met Gala. As Wintour famously told CBS News in 2011, “To be in Vogue has to mean something.”

What being in Vogue means now is anyone’s guess.
