Paula Patton steps out at the Independent Spirit Awards

Just days after announcing her separation with Robin Thicke, Paula Patton showed no signs of strain while stepping out at a Hollywood awards ceremony.

The 38-year-old actress looked stunning in a tiny yellow lace mini dress at the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica on Saturday.

Paula was at the event as a presenter and seemed relaxed, even as she was guarded by a team of handlers through the crowd of other guests.

Patton and Thicke told People in a joint statement on Monday: ‘We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.’

It is believed it was Patton’s decision to call off the marriage, and hasn’t been moved by Thicke’s attempts to persuade her to change her mind.

He has been sending large bouquets of flowers and dedicated the song “Lost Without You” on stage in Fairfax, Virginia, telling the crowd, “Me and my wife separated, but I’m trying to get my girl back. She’s a good woman.”

Others who stepped out at the awards ceremony, which celebrates independent filmmaking, included Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Bruce Dern, “12 Years A Slave” director Steve McQueen with the cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong’o.

“12 Years A Slave” was the big winner of the ceremony, which won the award for best feature, best director for McQueen best supporting female for Nyong’o, while John Ridley won for best screenplay, and Sean Bobbit for best cinematography.

Cate Blanchett took the award for best actress for “Blue Jasmine” and Matthew McConaughey won best actor for “Dallas Buyers Club.”
