Russell Simmons thinks The Post should give Mayor de Blasio a break.
“Honestly, I don’t want to get in a fight with The Post,” Simmons told us during the Rush Hearts Education lunch at the Plaza. “I love your team, I just don’t understand why they beat the [bleep] out of Bill de Blasio. It’s every day.”
Despite outcry from the public and even Al Roker, Simmons thinks the mayor made the right choice to keep schools open Thursday. “He sent kids to school, so what?” he said. “We’re not Atlanta. We’re not scared of the snow. He sent them to school and he ate pizza without his hands.”
Cynthia Nixon, who campaigned for de Blasio, said he’s “doing great. My kids were in school yesterday and I was happy about it.”
