The parents of swimming great Ryan Lochte lost their home to foreclosure, even though their Olympic-hero son has made millions in endorsements.
Steven and Ileana Lochte have not made any payments on their Port Orange, Fla., home for two years, according to a court order in favor of lenders at CitiMortgage.
Their 29-year-old swimming superstar son has cashed in on his 11 Olympic medals — a gold and silver in Athens 2004; two golds and two bronze in Beijing 2008; and two golds, two silver and a bronze in London 2012.He’s pitched for the likes of Gatorade and Ralph Lauren.
He swimmer even had a short-lived reality show, “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” trading on his charming but dimwitted persona.
CitiMortgage claimed that the Lochtes took a loan for $258,000 in 2007 and still owe $242,000, according to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.
The bank hasn’t put the home — which includes a swimming pool — on sale yet. A rep for Ryan Lochte could not be immediately reached for comment on Thursday.
This isn’t the first time Lochte’s family has embarrassed him.
After the 2008 Olympics, sister Megan Lochte went on a talk show and inexplicably spewed racial slurs in describing their Chinese hosts.
