Jersey City is hell on Earth. At least, according to a comedy that starts filming next month on the other side of the Hudson.
The premise of “The Jersey Devil” — starring Chris Mulkey (“Captain Phillips”), David Chokachi (“Baywatch”) and Jack Mulcahy (“Porky’s) — is that Lucifer is term-limited and has to turn over the fires of hell to a new devil, who wants to revamp its image and change its location for a hipper netherworld.
After an extensive search, the devil settles on Jersey City as the perfect new home for the damned.
With the support of Mayor Steven Fulop — maybe he didn’t read the screenplay? — filming will take place at the landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater and City Hall.
