Stick a ‘Golden Fork’ in Gourmet

Gourmet is going out with a giant “Golden Fork” salute. All staffers of the axed Condé Nast magazine have been invited to dine with Emeril Lagasse, Daniel Boulud, Eric Ripert, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Michael Psilakis at the annual Great Gathering of Chefs at the Mandarin Oriental on Sunday. Organizer Alan Batt, also known as photographer Batt-man, will give each Gourmet employee a Golden Fork Award “to honor their culinary expertise,” an insider said, adding that he “wanted it to be the last meal for the magazine that touched the lives of so many chefs.”
