Drug-testing time for Stephanie Seymour

No luxury Caribbean vacation will keep Stephanie Seymour from mandatory drug tests, a judge in her messy divorce from Peter Brant has ruled.

Seymour was recently hauled into a Connecticut courtroom after she missed court-ordered testing while vacationing in St. Barts with two of her kids in March, according to divorce records.

The former Victoria’s Secret model’s drinking and drug use have become a critical point of contention in her split from polo-playing Brant. Both had previously been ordered to submit to the tests as part of their split. The couple is due back in court in Stamford, Conn., today.

After the Caribbean trip, Brant’s lawyers wanted Seymour found in contempt for not taking the test. But she argued in court that she didn’t see e-mails that former lawyer Tom Colin sent her when she was in St. Barts asking her to meet with a doctor who was sent to her hotel to perform the test.

Lawyer Lacey Bernier, who represents the interests of the Brants’ three kids, told the judge she became worried about Seymour’s mixing prescription drugs with alcohol after speaking with Seymour’s nanny, Cora Driv, Brant’s oldest children from his previous marriage, and Seymour’s oldest child, Dylan. “All of the kids that I interviewed, they all had memories of her drunk,” Bernier testified.

After the St. Barts incident, Seymour’s lawyer, Colin, stopped representing her. Court papers said they had “a very strained relationship that culminated in [its] termination.” Seymour has since brought on Anne Dranginis.

But the judge did not find Seymour in contempt and instead gave her a stern warning not to miss future tests. Brant’s lawyers — claiming that Seymour “has a proclivity for combining alcohol with various prescription drugs” — have now asked that the judge order her not to drink.

Lawyers for Brant and Seymour did not return calls for comment.
