Cate Blanchett and Steve McQueen waited in line to get into CAA’s pre-Golden Globes dinner at Soho House in West Hollywood as Sting and Trudie Styler exited and a flustered fire marshall counted heads.

A spy said “100 chosen people” had been invited to dinner before the party that could fit 500, and 1,000 RSVP’d.

In the A-list scrum Friday night was Jerry Bruckheimer, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and “a very pregnant” Kerry Washington.

A guest quipped to “12 Years a Slave” director McQueen in the queue, “Don’t worry. Monday morning, you’ll be counting your Golden Globes and remembering you stood in line at a CAA party.”
