Vets taking aim at Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda has apologized repeatedly for her trip to North Vietnam in 1972, but she is still considered a traitor to some veterans, who gladly target her smiling face when they visit men’s rooms in VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) halls.

My friend Mike Walker of the National Enquirer discovered the $12.95 urinal strainer — showing Jane’s face, fringed with bangs circa “Klute,” and the words “Hanoi Jane — Still a Traitor” — is the product of Peepeeface.com, a company in Rochester, NY.

The firm also features strainers with the faces of Barney Frank, Dick Cheney and Nancy Pelosi, but its best seller is President Obama with the slogan, “We Distribute Your Wealth.”

Dean Nicosia, who distributes the novelties through Fubowear.com, told me he isn’t getting rich. “I don’t know if we sell any Barney Franks at all,” he laughed. “It’s a fun project, but if we had to rely on this we’d all be starving to death.”

Fonda, who was duped by the North Vietnamese, stated two years ago, “There is one thing that happened while in North Vietnam that I will regret to my dying day — I allowed myself to be photographed on a Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun.”

It’s time to forgive and forget, and take aim at more deserving faces.
