New CBS anchor Scott Pelley raised some eyebrows on the “Evening News” after appearing to have undergone an eyebrow and eyelid lift. Sources tell us Pelley “looks like he had the nip and tuck in the eyelid area” before it was anounced he would replace Katie Couric. He told network staff — in the tone of a “religious revival” — on Tuesday afternoon following the big announcement, “I’m committing my body and soul to the job.” He continued, “We are all part of the Fager-Rhodes universe that we all now inhabit,” referencing CBS News President David Rhodes and CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager. Not only did Pelley cause a stir with his fervor and over-the-top talking points, telling staff, “I need your strength and your wisdom, and together we’ll lift this up,” but he caused some chuckles about his tweaking. One staffer told us, “The only thing he’s lifting is his eyes.”
